Current Winter and Spring CalCOFI surveys schedule 104 stations, which may be occupied weather & shiptime permitting, with 23+ days at sea. If shiptime is limited to 16 days-at-sea, the southern 6 lines become the focus of the survey, occupying the 75 station Summer & Fall pattern. The 29 additional stations located north of Point Conception (lines 73.3 through 60.0) are surveyed but the ship may only stop when fish egg densities are high.  (click thumbnail for larger image)
